As many of you know, at the start of 2015, we officially began our partnership with an amazing organization called Jumpstart.
Jumpstart is a national early education organization working toward the day every child in America enters kindergarten prepared to succeed. Jumpstart delivers a research-based and cost-effective program by training college students and community volunteers to work with preschool-age children in low-income neighborhoods. Through a proven curriculum, these children develop the language and literacy skills they need to be ready for kindergarten, setting them on a path for lifelong success. Additionally, they work toward the day every child in America enters kindergarten prepared to succeed.
Jumpstart is a proud member of the AmeriCorps national service network.
Our group of Jumpstarters hail from American University and work/play with our Pre K-4 and Pre K-3ers. They visit our After School program on Monday & Thursdays, in which they have already completed some fun + engaging projects to include (but not limited to):
- Dramatic Play
- Sing-A-Longs
- Story Time (w/comprehensive activity)
- Painting
And much more!
