Celebrate With Our Yoga Instructor, Ms. Ayana On Her NEW Books!

Hi Parents, Guardians + Friends!

As many of you may know, one of our enrichment instructors, Ms. Ayana, teaches the yoga class at Bancroft and JO Wilson. Our students absolutely love when she’s present for a little wind down, meditation time. And hey, the staff enjoy it also; and we’ll never be able to thank her enough!

However, what we CAN do is support her new journey as an author! Ms. Ayana and her daughter recently debuted their children’s books, “10 Little Beautiful Souls” and “ABC’s Of Yoga”.

Soon you’ll be able to purchase them online! I’m not sure about you, but I am ready to get my copies and see what else Ms. Ayana has in store 🙂 Stay tuned for additional information about supporting her new books.

Team Building + Team Work Time In Kindergarten!

Hi Parents, Guardians + Friends!

As aftercare instructor for Kindergarten at Bancroft, I’m always coming up with ideas on how my students can better understand what it means to be kind to others, correct manners and knowing the difference between right and wrong. Well, last week, we took the entire 5 days together to read and study a book called, “7 Habits of Happy Kids” by Sean Covey.

Kindergarten absolutely loved this book, but probably not as much as me! If you haven’t checked out this book yet, read about it below:

In The 7 Habits of Happy Kids, Sean Covey uses beautifully illustrated stories to bring his family’s successful philosophy to the youngest child.

For the Seven Oaks friends, there is always something to do. Whether they’re singing along with Pokey Porcupine’s harmonica or playing soccer with Jumper Rabbit, everyone is having fun and learning all sorts of things. These seven stories show how practicing the 7 Habits makes this possible for the whole Seven Oaks Community.

From learning how to take charge of their own lives to discovering how balance is best, the Seven Oaks friends have tons of adventures and find out how each and every kid can be a happy kid!

So we discussed so many topics from showing kindness towards others to distinguishing from right/wrong (but in a FUN way!) So after finishing 5 of the stories, we spent the last day team building which included taking a task and completing it as one team. They also enjoyed free drawing their favorite part of story of the book. See what happened below!

FUN Outside Play On Our “Warmer” Days

Hi Parents, Guardians + Friends!

The winter season this year has surprisingly been quite kind to us. Specifically the month of February where winter tends to hit us the worst. However lately, we’ve been getting much warmer temps than expected — therefore, why not spend those days OUTSIDE?!

We love to give our students a nice 30-40 minute enjoyment period outside where they can scream, jump, laugh + run as much as their little hearts desire! And hey, even sometimes, you’ll catch me running around playing too 🙂 My favorite activity is joining them in a game of tag on the jungle gym!

Do you see your child below???

Welcome Spring! Our Fun Return To the Playground For Outside Play

While we “officially” await for Spring to arrive this weekend — we couldn’t help but to rush and tackle the playground and happily squint at the beautiful rays of sunshine! During snack time in the cafeteria everyday, our CES kids love to ask if we’re going outside to play — unfortunately, we had to answer “No, not today…” during our wintery months; but ever since we’ve sprung forward, “YES!” has been the answer everyday!

We also held Capoeira outside last week and this week! It was just too beautiful to be inside 🙂

Here’s what happened…
