Farewell! Wishing Each of You a Very Happy Summer 2017!

Hi Parents, Guardians + Friends!

The time has finally arrived for us to wish you and all of our CES crew a very HAPPY 2017 SUMMER! We can’t believe how fast the year ran through — WOW.  It’s like the FALL season was just here a couple weeks ago. Nevertheless, I am so proud of each of our CES kiddos who are moving up and moving on 😦 Sad, but proud.

Again, we’d like to thank all of the parents who have supported us not only during this school year, but during the previous years as well.  In case you missed it, here’s a note from our Program Director:

As many of you know, CES will not be returning to Bancroft ES next school year. This decision was not that of CES, however, the school administration of Bancroft and the PTO have decided to move forward with another after-school enrichment provider.

We have enjoyed having been a part of the Bancroft Elementary School family for the past 5 years, and will forever be grateful for the opportunity to provide high quality after school enrichment services to your children.

Have a great Summer!!

Take care 🙂

-Mia

We will deeply miss our Bancroft family, but will continue to keep watch!

During the last week of school, we ended our fun by doing a couple of Father’s Day activities and celebrated the last day together with our annual  popsicle party!! It was so overwhelming for me to say the least, that I didn’t get around to taking many pictures! However, here’s a little peak at what happened:

Also, thank you to our enrichment staff for help making this program a success! Have a safe and FUN summer!

Easter Outside Play 2017

Hi Parents, Guardians + Friends!

I’m delighted to share with you all some pictures of our Easter adventures held on Good Friday 4/14! Every year, I plan fun week-long activities and an Easter Egg Hunt to close out the week. This year, our CES crew enjoyed various Easter coloring pages, one bunny/egg art + craft and the biggest piece of all — you guessed it, the hunt!

Each class (PK3, PK4 and Kindergarten) had their very own egg hunt in the Bancroft (Sharpe) courtyards at specific times. CUTENESS OVERLOAD as the staff and I watched them search for colorful plastic eggs. Some were even dressed in glitter that contained different prizes!

To go along with the egg hunt, students got to make very their own bags, which served as our mini craft that week. Did you hear about all the fun we had?? If not, check the pictures below to see for yourself:

This Is How We Celebrated LOVE Day At Bancroft!

Hi Parents, Guardians + Friends!

No holiday goes unnoticed at Bancroft Elementary! We’ve made it a tradition to spend at least one day (or even a week long) celebrating holidays in the forms of:

  • discussion
  • arts/crafts
  • music/dance
  • coloring/drawing
  • and more!

Such was the case for Valentine’s Day! One of my favorites, so we definitely had to spend a couple of days spreading the LOVE ❤ ❤ ❤  We also ended the day with white chocolate kisses + cupcakes!

Parents, what do ya think? Did they enjoy VDay 2017 or what?! We hope that you loved your personalized cards! Take a look:

Come Find Out What’s Going On At J.O. Wilson!

Hi Parents, Guardians + Friends!

We’re back and delighted to share a snippet (or two, three) of our LITTLE FRIENDS over at J.O. Wilson Elementary! They have  been having tons of fun and cool adventures with Site Coordinator Ms. Helene and staff; along with enrichment instructors, Mr. Dale (Capoeira) and Ms. Ayana (Yoga).

It also looks like our friendly Kindergarten faces had a friendship-bracelet and necklace making party! At CES, we truly love arts + crafts because that’s the perfect time to let our students be creative and artsy in their own way; and with their own imagination! Let’s take a look:

PS: Ms. Helene, your friends at Bancroft say HEY!

Hi Parents, Guardians + Friends!

Every year at Bancroft, we celebrate the Halloween season with a pizza party, candy, costumes + crafts! This year was no different. Special thanks to our Director, Mia Stewart for supplying the pizza and Ms. Rosales for introducing a fun 3D craft project creating very COLORFUL pumpkins! And how about the costumes?! We had so many different creatures, super-heros and princesses… let’s take a look!

Happy New School Year… Let’s Catch Up! (Bancroft)

Hi Family, Friends + Guardians!

We know, we know — It’s December of a new school year and you’ve probably been wondering “Now what in the world has my child been up to in after-school?!” Well before we get into all of that, let’s play catch up from the end of last year! We had such a fun time ending the year on a good note, I absolutely must show that part of the CES experience!

As always each year, we end with a popsicle party outside on the playground — each class together! On this particular day, our dear Creative Movement instructor got to join us.  The girls also hula-hooped and well the boys, kicked around the soccer balls. And all of us created art with some chalk!

We surely hope that our last year’s Kindergarteners are enjoying 1st grade this year!!

Bancroft Fun ‘N the Sun | Easter Outside Play + Egg Hunt!

Hi Parents, Guardians + Friends!

EASTER is one of my favorite holidays! And this year (similar to last year), I prepared and hosted an Easter party + egg hunt for our CES kids. They were absolutely thrilled about the party the entire week and I almost cried on that Thursday because rain was forecasted for Friday (the day of the party). BUT, to my surprise and gratefulness, the rain HELD OFF for the entire day 🙂

During that week, we did coloring activities and a quick craft (making the Easter bags); and on the day of the party, we began our after-school activities with Easter inspired chocolates + cupcakes and proceeded outside for the Egg hunt.

Each class had their own egg hunt of course, during their scheduled outside play in which each child was instructed to find exactly 3 eggs to put in their bags. And towards the end of the day, all classes got to participate in one last hunt together. Boy did we have some fun!

Here’s what happened:

**And SPECIAL THANKS to those parents/nannies who allowed their child to stay longer that day to indulge in their egg hunt findings and play 🙂

Nooooo….. Don’t Go Ms. Helene! But If You Must — We Will Miss You!

Hi Parents, Guardians + Friends!

Unfortunately with a new, exciting year, also comes changes.  Many of you know by now that we lost an AMAZING staff member; our dedicated Kindergarten teacher, Ms. Helene. But no worries! She is still with our CES program, as Site Coordinator at JO Wilson Elementary. Want to keep in touch with her?? She welcomes you for a phone call or just a pop-up visit 🙂

And surely there was absolutely no way we could send her off without doing one of our favorite things: PARTYING! From freeze dance to stuffing our face with cupcakes + cookies! It was a bittersweet day, but with lots of activities and fun that made us not think so much about her leaving. Plus, she promised she would visit us 🙂

Here’s how our party went:

Fall/Winter RECAP 2015: Parties, Outside Play + Adventure!

Hi Parents, Guardians, + Friends!

Welcome back and Happy New Year 2016! We surely hope that you all had an incredible holiday break — with family and with your dearest friends! So much has been going on and we are excited to update you!

As we prepared for our lengthy holiday break, the staff did an amazing job preparing fun Christmas and Winter activities for the kids 🙂 We colored fun sheets, discussed related themes (from snowflakes, Christmas trees, Santa Clause… to mittens and coats!) On our final day before the break, they crafted their very own Christmas tree ornaments. Take a look!

2015 Halloween Pizza Party Recap!

Hi Parents, Guardians + Friends!

On last Thursday, we had our annual Halloween Pizza Party! Unfortunately, our party this year did not fall on Character Day in which students get to have fun wearing their costumes at school. However, for the party, there were sweet treats, pizza, juice, outside play + lots of pumpkin-making FUN during arts + crafts time 🙂

Did your child tell you about our party and show you their silly pumpkins? No? Well take a look for yourself!

**FYI, we generally have some sort of super fun activity such as this Halloween themed party on mostly all holidays, so stay tuned!
